The Customer Boarding team’s primary responsibility is to onboard new merchants onto AltaPay‘s omni-channel payments platform. To assist this process the team is currently looking for a highly focused and dedicated colleague, to take on the role as Senior Customer Boarding Specialist, and ensure a smooth customer onboarding process.

WHAT YOU WILL ENJOY DOING

With reference to the Director of Customer Boarding & Support, you will be responsible for ensuring an exceptional experience for our merchants, as they bring their merchant operations processes into AltaPay. You will work cross-functionally with colleagues in Product Development, Sales and Support to ensure timely delivery of each step of the on-boarding process. This is a customer success role that requires a proactive approach, to ensure a smooth onboarding process through to the merchant’s “Go-Live” date. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Taking on the leading role in the department and coordinating and overseeing our 4 diligent student assistant’s tasks, which among other ad hoc tasks include:
    • Management of acquiring applications for POS retail stores;
    • Collection of proof of bank documents, IDs, annual reports, financial history;
    • Filling in of acquiring applications for e-commerce retailers;
    • Analysis of merchant financials;
    • Setting up of merchant test environments;
    • Invoicing merchants and updating prices.
  • Ensuring proper handover with Sales to understand the customer onboarding scope; 
  • Ensuring that the boarding process is followed and that the onboarding will proceed as smoothly as possible, both in relation to our merchants and the banks;
  • Handle acquiring applications on behalf of our merchants, and taking responsibility for them getting the right redemption and banking agreements in place, under the best possible terms, that you will be responsible for negotiating into place;
  • Ensure that our merchants meet current requirements and take responsibility for providing the right payment methods under the best possible terms andconditions for the merchant;
  • Ensuring that the customer meets the applicable requirements and guide them to achieving a good and solid setup;
  • Project Managing / coordinating both internally and externally towards merchants and banks and managing workflows within the agreed SLA; 
  • Training the merchants in the use of the platform, and assist payment providers where needed in relation to the merchant’s and AltaPay’s operations; 
  • Liaising and cooperating with other business functions including Customer Support and Sales & Partnerships, to ensure an efficient and professional working environment;
  • Sharing expertise with co-workers and partners and continuing to develop own knowledge and capabilities to support job requirements and company needs;
  • Performing ongoing maintenance of the Boarding Team process and procedure documentation to ensure it is up to date
  • Undertaking additional ad hoc customer related tasks and regularly contributing to improve the customer journey. 

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The preferred candidate comes with experience from a similar role within the payment industry, and is familiar with KYC procedures and the AML laws. 

Additionally, we expect you to:

  • Have a relevant bachelor or masters degree;
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English;
  • Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • Technical flair and a logical mindset is a definite plus.
